Once you are registered with Mining Employment Services
Once you have registered with MES we will endeavour to identify suitable job opportunities for you. Jobs that match your profile will be emailed to you as they arise. If you do not regularly check your email, it is important that you inform us, as we will need to contact you by phone regarding suitable positions.
How to apply for an advertised position
If you see a position that interests you please follow the prompts to apply. We will inform you of any positive developments with your application. If you are not successful we will keep your details on file and contact you regarding suitable positions that may arise in the future.
Preparing your Resume
Your resume is an important tool in your search for a new job. It is vital that it clearly and concisely details your education, knowledge, skills and abilities.
The standard format is to list your work experience chronologically starting with your current or most recent job, with a brief description of your responsibilities in each job. It is important to also include education, software knowledge and any relevant training. Please ensure that you also include a minimum of two contactable work related verbal referees.

Overseas Applicants
457 Standard Business Sponsorship (Long Stay)
This is the most commonly used program for employers to sponsor overseas workers to work in Australia on a temporary basis. With this visa you can be employed for a period of between three (3) months and four (4) years.
417 Working Holiday Visa
This visa is for people aged 18 to 30 years of age, who are interested in a working holiday of up to 12 months in Australia. Candidates from the following countries can work in Australia with a 417 Working Holiday Visa:

Salaries to US $110-140K plus full relocation assistance plus visa sponsorship
Our client is a large multinational mining contracting firm who operate open cut and metal/mineral mines with a rich history within Australia and Asia. Due to tremendous growth of the company globally, there are now numerous opportunities for Mining and Mechanical Engineers for Australia.
Duties Include:
Assist in the preparation and implementation of Project Management Plans and establish the basis for the overall Project Management System, consistent with the Branch Management System
Assist in the procurement of materials and resources necessary for the completion of the works
Participate in audit and review programs to ensure Management System compliance and effectiveness
Continually evaluate, review and determine the most appropriate use of mining methodologies for best project performance
Assist in the preparation of Monthly Valuation reports
Assist in the establishment of project objectives
Maintain a preventive and contingent approach to project planning at all times
Plan, maintain and monitor a Mine Operation plan and program encompassing all procurement, operation and completion activities involved in the Project
Provide engineering and technical support to management and supervisory staff
Plan, lead, organize and control project resources to ensure the requirements and project objectives are met on an ongoing basis
Candidates Should Possess:
Probably two years plus of experience within the mining or resources sector
Strong planning, negotiation and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Ideally an engineering degree within mining or mechanical or equivalent
Commitment to excellence in safety and environmental management
Proven ability to liaise effectively with operations personnel and senior management
Strong computer literacy skills
